As of 2008, I had sold 3122 copies of Blood Is Thicker Than Water, and 2262 copies of Brethren: Raised by Wolves, Volume One. I don’t think these two numbers represent the same people - even 2262 people. Due to buying trends and the differences in the names on the fan mail I’ve received over the last seven years, I’m pretty damn sure I have two distinct markets – with at most a 25% cross-over. But I don’t know. I can’t know. I’ve received feedback from only about 10% of the people who purchased my books. However, I think more than 10% of my readers visit this site. Sadly, probably not many of the vampire fans anymore: because they’ve given up on my ever finishing that series… But, be that as it may, this new-fangled web site hosting offers me a chance to get some blind feedback from those of you in the silent majority: those who visit the site but don’t participate in the fan groups, e-mail me, or comment on my blog.

I am wrapping up the end of the Raised By Wolves story. This leaves me wondering what I’m going to be doing next. As a writer, I know quite well I’m going to do whatever my muse tells me to do. But, as a publisher, I want to know how I need to react to whatever it is my muse wants me to do. For example, if my Muse wants to write another historical M/M romance – which is one of the options -- then that’s a no-brainer for me as a publisher: I just need to keep the Raised By Wolves fans informed about what’s going on. If, however, my muse wants to work on the vampire series, then I need to market to the fans of Blood and set up different pages on my site – which means I need to know if any of those people are still coming to this site… And if my muse decides to veer off into left field and write one of the other stories I have bouncing around in my head, I need to know if my current fans will be receptive, or if I have to start marketing for a whole new set. Most of these stories are M/M; but, for example, one of them is science fiction, another is fantasy, and another involves contemporary werewolves.

So… I am asking visitors to respond to this survey. Please read all the answers before making a choice. Some of them might seem repetitive or hair splitting, but the distinctions are important to me. Please only vote once. Don’t bother voting a hundred times for whatever course you really really want me to take. No offense, but my muse isn’t going to listen to you.
